From my last post I wrote about betting a Yew bowl from storage, and replacing it with a new Yew bowl. This is that Bowl. I’ve imported most of the pictures I took whilst turning the bowl. I hope you enjoy them.
I didn’t take any photographs before I had got this far and attached the bowl to the chuck but I think we can both agree the grain is very attractive.
This is stage I decided it needed drying further. I think the grain is very distinctive and prefer this bowl to all of my others so far.
So here it is for now, all wrapped up in its own wood chipping hopefully drying the bowl out further.
Please do leave comments if you know other ways of drying out wooden bowls in the UK. – I don’t like to rush the process and risk the chances of cracking!
