Turning Yew Bowl May (part 2)

I think you’ll all remember me putting a turned bowl into a cardboard box with all of it’s chipping. The wood chipping help to draw all the moisture out of the bowl.

I opened the box yesterday and you can see its drying out slowly, and leaving red dots around the bowl. (Don’t forget to click on the images to get a larger shot)

I didn’t like the dots and this has happened in a previous bowl. So I took the opportunity of putting the bowl back on the lathe. The bowl ran smooth, and I turned a clean edge off thew bowl as you can see.

Below you can see the bowl in all of its wood chipping and a new bowl and its wood chipping replacing it! – I might have to get more than one cardboard box!
